The Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) has sent letters to all immigration officers in the country to prevent the escape of Akbar Hossain Bhuiyan, Sub-Inspector (SI) in charge of Bandarbazar outpost of Sylhet Kotwali Police Station.

This was stated by PBI Chief DIG Banaj Kumar Majumder at a press conference at PBI's head office in the capital’s Dhanmondi on Thursday.

"We received the case documents of the Sylhet incident last night," he said. The PBI team from Sylhet was at the scene for three to four hours yesterday. We have started the investigation, at the initial stage of the investigation we felt that we need the temporarily dismissed Sub-Inspector Akbar.

DIG Banaj Kumar Majumder said, "For this reason, we have informed the entire immigration department that Akbar should not be able to flee the country under any circumstances." Besides, the Home Ministry has also informed various immigration centers on the border that Akbar should not leave the country. We have Tim ready to catch him.

"Our IGP has always said don't ruin the reputation you have earned in Corona," he said. Akbar did not think of us, he ruined the reputation of the whole company. So there is no chance to think about it.

Asked if the incident was due to Tk 10,000, he said, "We are investigating the matter. Not everything can be said in one day." However, we will investigate by recovering his body from the grave under the leadership of a magistrate.

"We have not received the case file yet," he said, referring to the case filed against former DUCSU VP Nur under the Digital Security Act. If found, I will start the investigation. In this case, the investigation will be given to a senior officer.
