MP Nixon sued over breaching election code of conduct

The Election Commission (EC) has filed a case against Faridpur-4 MP Nixon Chowdhury (Independent) for allegedly insulting and threatening the executive magistrate in charge of the polling station.

District Election Commissioner Nawabul Islam filed the case with Faridpur's Charbhadrasan Police Station around 10 am on Thursday.

Chief Additional Secretary of the Investigation Committee Ashok Debnath and other central officials of the Election Commission were present at that time.

Three members of the Election Commission, including Chief Additional Secretary Ashok Debnath, arrived at the Charbhadrasan police station in Faridpur on Thursday morning to file a case against MP Nixon Chowdhury.

Meanwhile, a heated situation is prevailing over the organization of the human chain for and against this local MP. Additional security measures have been taken by deploying additional police in the police station and surrounding areas to control the situation.
