Death toll mounts to 6,487

Bangladesh logged 39 more deaths from the novel coronavirus in the last 24 hours till Wednesday at 8 am.
The country's death toll from the virus now stands at 6,487according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
In the meantime, 2,156 people tested positive for Covid-19. The number of novel coronavirus cases in the country now stands at 454,146.

Also, 2,302 patients were declared free of Covid-19 during the same period, raising the total number of recoveries to 369,189.

Meanwhile, 16,001samples were tested in 117 labs across the country in the past 24 hours.

The country's maiden cases were reported on March 8 this year and the first death from the virus was reported on March 18
