On the occasion of ‘Armed Forces Day 2020’, 40 officers and seamen of the Bangladesh Navy have been awarded the Peacetime Padaks for the year 2019, in recognition of their heroic and courageous deeds.

The Peacetime Medal was awarded at Jupiter Hall in the Naval Headquarters (NHQ) on Saturday.

Among the recipients are three Nou Bahini Padak (NBP), Osamamnyo Seba Padaks (OSPs), five Bishishtho Seba Padaks (BSPs), seven Nou Gourob Padaks (NGPs), 10 Nou Uthkorsho Padaks (NUPs) and 10 Nou Parodorshita Padaks (NPPs) Acquired.

On the same day, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Shaheen Iqbal presented Nou Bahini Padak (NBP) to three officers on behalf of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. They are: Vice Admiral M Akhtar Habib (Retd.), Vice-Chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University (BSMRMU) Rear Admiral Mohammad Khaled Iqbal and Assistant Chief of Naval Operations Rear Admiral Mohammad Abu Ashraf.

Besides, the Chief of Naval Staff awarded four Osamanya Seba Padaks, two Bishishtho Seba Padaks, four Nou Gourob Padaks, two Nou Uthkorsho Padaks and one Nou Parodorshita Padak.

Other PSOs and senior officials of the Navy were present at the time. Other officers and sailors were awarded medals by the respective naval administrative authorities of Dhaka, Chattograms, and Khulna watersheds.
