Police detains 18 Rohingyas from Moulvibazar town

Police today detained 18 Rohingyas from Moulvibazar town after they illegally entered into the country from India, police say.

A team of police detained the 18, including 10 children, from Dhaka bus stand area on Moulvibazar-Sreemangal Road around 11:00am, said Yeasinul Haque, officer-in-charge of Moulvibazar Sadar Police Station.

The identity of the detainees could not be known immediately.

The Rohingyas told police that they entered into Bangladesh from India through Kulaura border and were heading towards Cox's Bazar Rohingya camp, the OC said. The Daily Star
