Transgender beauty vlogger held captive, abused: Rab arrest 3

The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has made three arrests over the alleged sexual assault and attempted murder of a transgender beauty vlogger.

The elite police unit detained Ishtiaq Amin Fuad, his wife Saima Nira and one Sadman Sakib during raids at Dhaka’s Farmgate and Mohakhali late on Saturday.

They were arrested in a case started by vlogger Saad Mua with the Bhatara police station, said ANM Imran Hossain Khan, assistant director of RAB’s Legal and Media Wing.

According to the case documents, the vlogger said she was acquainted with the accused online and went to their home in Bashundhara Residential Area on January 10.

Later, the accused allegedly held her captive, snatched her bag and phone, before torturing her.

On Friday night, Saad posted the photos of two of the accused from her Facebook profile and narrated her ordeal on the social media platform.

“… their intention was to sell me," she claimed.
