Man killed after a speeding bus comes from the wrong side in Ctg

Amid the ongoing demonstration for safer roads, a person was killed after a speeding bus ran him over from the wrong side of a road in the Gosaildanga area in Chattogram city last night.

The deceased was identified as Susanta Deb a human hauler driver, confirmed Zahedul Kabir, officer-in-charge of Bandar Police Station, reports.

Witnesses said the bus of Paharika Super Service-- plying on the Rangmati-Chattogram route-- run over the victim while he was crossing the road in the area around 11:00 pm, leaving him dead on the spot.

Traffic police sources of the Bandar zone said the helper was driving the bus at the time.

"The helper of the bus was detained following the accident," said OC Zahedul.The Daily Star
