According to the latest data from global coronavirus survey agency worldometer, so far 42,053,491 coronavirus cases have been recorded in the 215 countries and international territories across the globe since late December last. Besides, 1,143,709 victims lost their lives around the world from COVID-19 within this time. Besides, 31,212,418 people have recovered.

Many countries across the world have taken cautionary steps to stop the spread of the deadly coronavirus, but the number of people infected with the virus continues to rise. The number of novel coronavirus cases in the world has surpassed 41.2 million.

The coronavirus was first detected in Wuhan, the capital of Hubei Province, China in December 2019. So far, the virus has spread to 216 countries and territories around the world.

The United States is the most affected nation by the deadly coronavirus having 8,661,722 people infected with the virus. Of these, 228,381 have died in the country.

India is in the second position in the context of coronavirus infection and at third in the context of deaths after the United States and Brazil. The death toll in India rose to 117,336 and the number of coronavirus cases has risen to 7,761,312.

Brazil, the Latin American country has the second-highest number of deaths from coronavirus. The death toll rose to 155,962. Besides, the number of coronavirus cases in the country has risen to 5,332,634.

China, the birthplace of coronavirus has so far reported 85,747 confirmed cases. Of these, 4,634 people have died.
