High Court directs BTRC to remove all videos & audio of Murad

The High Court today directed Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) to remove all videos and audio of State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murad Hassan's derogatory comments from online platforms and social media in 24 hours.

The HC bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Md Mostafizur Rahman issued the order on a suo muto (voluntary) move after Supreme Court lawyer Syed Sayedul Haque Suman prayed for necessary directives to this effect.

The bench asked Deputy Attorney General Bepul Bagmar to convey the court order to the BTRC and inform it after complying with the directive tomorrow.

Lawyer Suman told the HC that the audio and videos which went viral on social media will have adverse impact on children and the young if those are not removed immediately. The Daily Star
