Zara Phythian, a martial artist who played a sorcerer alongside Benedict Cumberbatch in the 2016 Marvel Studios film, "Doctor Strange", was unanimously convicted of 14 sex offenses against a child aged between 13 and 15, according to reports.
Her husband, fellow martial artist Victor Marke, was also found guilty of the same charges, as well as three others against another young girl, in Nottingham Crown Court.
The husband and wife were remanded in custody and warned that they will get a "considerable period in custody" when sentenced on Monday, as per reports.
Marke's offenses include indecent assault of a 15-year-old victim, while both were convicted of multiple counts of sexual activity with another underage victim beginning when she was 13. Their actions span multiple years and repeated occasions involving the same victim. Some of the encounters were filmed.
According to BBC, Marke claimed that the sexual activity occurred on only one occasion, and that Phythian was not involved alongside him. Phythian denied any wrongdoing, and was visibly upset at the verdict, wiping away tears as she was led to custody, according to reports.
Prosecutor Nicole Hepburn said thanks to the brave victim's evidence, the pair have been exposed as true liars. The Daily Star
