Cannes Film Festival 2022 feature A R Rahman on red carpet

Cannes Film Festival 2022 will feature popular Bollywood personalities – Akshay Kumar, music maestro A R Rahman, director Shekhar Kapur and actress Pooja Hegde will be walking on the red carpet on the first day of the 75th Cannes Film Festival.

The prestigious festival announced India as the official country of honour at the Marche Du Films or better known as 'Cannes Film Market' which is scheduled to be held on the sidelines of the Cannes Film Festival on May 17.

Actors Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Nayanthara, Tamannaah Bhatia, and Vani Tripathi along with actor R Madhavan, will also be gracing the red carpet at Cannes as part of the Indian contingent.  R Madhavan's directorial film "Rocketry: The Nambi Effect" will be screened at Cannes on May 19.

Bollywood star Deepika Padukone will be a part of the competition jury at the festival. The actress will join a nine-member jury board, which will be selecting the winners of this year's Palme d'Or honours.

The Cannes Film Festival will run from May 17 to 28. The Daily Star
